Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman
After spending nearly 60 hours in Pakistani custody, Abhinandan was released on March 1, 2019, as a goodwill gesture by Pakistan. His return to India was met with joy and relief, with crowds gathering to welcome him home. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called him a “brave son of India” and praised his extraordinary courage.
