K. Lal’s fascination with magic began at a young age. Despite his parents’ disapproval, he learned his first tricks from the rural entertainers who visited their home. It was during his family’s migration to Calcutta in the 1930s, known as the “land of magicians,” that K. Lal found his true calling.
